Katie Guerin
Vice President, Advancement
Katie joined First Tee – Greater Richmond in May 2022 as its Vice President of Advancement, bringing over 12 years of fundraising experience to the organization.
In her role, Katie will oversee fundraising efforts for First Tee – Greater Richmond and is responsible for all aspects of charitable giving to FTGR, to include strategy, research, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
Before coming to First Tee – Greater Richmond, Katie served as the Director of Development and Communications for the City Kids Wilderness Project, which saw her manage and execute City Kids’ annual development and communications plan, stewarding an existing portfolio of individual and foundation major donors and building an individual giving pipeline. Katie also was part of the organization’s annual trip to Jackson Hole, Wy., where participants traveled to the organization’s ranch and hiked in Grand Teton National Park.
At the Rails-To-Trails Conservancy, Katie served as both the Head of Strategic Initiatives and Major Gifts Officer, helping the organization implement and deliver on its new business plan across several years. Katie also helped land major gifts from Apple, Coca-Cola, FedEx and REI during her tenure.
Additionally, she participated in the organization’s trail-mapping trips where she would travel to a start and GPS all of the rail trails in a particular region for use in guidebooks and online databases.
A graduate of the University of South Carolina, Katie worked in the U.S. House of Representatives from 2008-09 and earned her Master’s Degree in Public Administration from American University.
Katie moved to Richmond two years ago with her husband Hunter and their children June and Margot. You can find her enjoying river time, backyard fire pits, yoga, antiquing, reading, or walking with friends.
