CHESTERFIELD, Va. (July 16, 2026) – The 13th Redmond Cup presented by Troutman Pepper Locke delivered three unforgettable days of competition, connection, and character development as First Tee – Greater Richmond welcomed eight fellow First Tee chapters to The Tattersall Youth Development Center for one of the region’s premier youth golf events.
Held July 14th through 16th, the Redmond Cup brought together participants from First Tee – Greater Baltimore, Greater Philadelphia, Greater Washington D.C., Hampton Roads, Pittsburgh, Roanoke Valley, Triangle, Virginia Blue Ridge, and host First Tee – Greater Richmond for a celebration of golf and the life skills that define the First Tee experience.
The week officially began on Tuesday evening with a Welcome Reception at Uptown Alley, where participants, coaches, and staff had the opportunity to connect before competition began. The evening featured bowling, arcade games, and plenty of friendly competition away from the golf course, giving participants the chance to build new friendships, reconnect with familiar faces, and enjoy a fun, relaxed start to the Redmond Cup experience before tournament play officially teed off the following day.
Wednesday evening featured the Sponsor Dinner presented by Fulton Bank at Salisbury Country Club, bringing together sponsors, coaches, and participants for an evening of outstanding food, networking, and inspiration. The evening’s featured panel discussion, moderated by CBS 6 Sports Anchor Lane Casadonte, included Mike Hott, Director of Golf at Salisbury Country Club and First Tee – Greater Richmond Board of Directors Emeritus; LPGA Tour professional Austin Ernst; First Tee – Greater Richmond alum D’yan Robinson; and First Tee – Triangle participant Aditi Honna. Their conversation centered on the impact of mentorship, the opportunities golf provides, and how the First Tee five key commitments helps young people on and off the course.
Competition officially teed off on Wednesday at The Tattersall Youth Development Center, with participants competing in two divisions. The 14+ division featured a two-day, 36-hole team competition with four participants from each chapter competing in two-player best-ball matches, while the 10–13 division competed in a two-day, 18-hole scramble (captain’s choice) format featuring two-player teams. New for 2026, the Redmond Cup also introduced live scoring through Golf Genius, allowing family members, alumni, and supporters to follow the action throughout the tournament.
While trophies were on the line, the Redmond Cup has always represented much more than competition. Throughout the event, participants demonstrated First Tee’s Key Commitments: Pursuing Goals, Growing Through Challenge, Collaborating with Others, Building Positive Self-Identity, and Using Good Judgment, showcasing sportsmanship and leadership alongside outstanding golf.
After two days of competitive play, the final results reflected the exceptional talent on display.

1st Place: Eleanor and Ethan from First Tee – Greater Washington, D.C.
2nd Place: Gino and Paxton from First Tee – Hampton Roads
Ages 14+ Division
1st Place: Jasmine and Kenan from First Tee – Greater Richmond
2nd Place: Ethan and Joey from First Tee – Philadelphia
When the final scores were tallied, First Tee – Greater Richmond earned the title of 2026 Redmond Cup Champions, giving the host chapter another memorable victory in front of its home community.
Now in its 13th year, the Redmond Cup continues to grow as one of First Tee – Greater Richmond’s signature events, providing participants with the opportunity to compete against peers from across the region while developing friendships and life skills that extend far beyond the game itself.
