Sterling Simmons III
Head Golf Professional, Belmont Golf Course

A former First Tee – Greater Richmond participant, Sterling joined the organization in 2019 in a full-time role. As a graduated participant of First Tee programming, he has become a PLAYer for life and has coached life skills classes for five years.
Now a PGA Class A Professional, Sterling serves as the Head Golf Professional at Belmont, where he leads instruction and operations for patrons of all ages and skill levels. Previously, he was the Player Development Professional at The Tattersall Youth Development Center, where he directed the Player Development Academy and oversaw First Tee matches and PGA Jr. League teams.
Sterling is a First Tee Level 3 Coach and certified in Operation 36. He graduated from Old Dominion University in 2018, where he played on the club golf team for four years and coached the Norfolk Collegiate high school golf team.
Sterling qualified for the 2021 and 2022 State Opens of Virginia and loves getting out on Belmont when he can. Off the course, Sterling enjoys video games and attending NHRA drag races.
