On Monday, May 11th, 50 youth participants from Peter Paul Development Center and Fit4Kids gathered at Belmont Golf Course for the Bank of America “Golf With Us” Clinic, an event focused on introducing young people to the game of golf while teaching valuable life skills through sport.
The clinic was part of Bank of Americas national “Golf With Us” initiative in partnership with Youth on Course, which helps make golf more accessible and affordable for young players across the country.
A highlight of the day was the involvement of former Major League Baseball standout Jackie Bradley Jr., a Prince George County native and World Series champion, who spent time interacting with participants throughout the clinic. Bradley shared his passion for the game and encouraged youth to embrace the lessons sports can teach both on and off the course.
“Having found success through sport as a child, I deeply understand its impact.” Bradley shared during the event, emphasizing the discipline, focus, and character-building opportunities golf provides for young people.
Coaches from First Tee – Greater Richmond helped lead a variety of instructional stations designed to introduce participants to different aspects of the game. Youth rotated through full swing, chipping, putting, and foot golf stations while also learning golf etiquette, teamwork, and sportsmanship in a fun and supportive environment.
The event created an engaging entry point for many first-time golfers and highlighted the importance of creating accessible opportunities for youth to experience the game. Through partnerships with organizations like Peter Paul Development Center, Fit4Kids, and First Tee – Greater Richmond, the clinic emphasized community connection and the positive impact sports can have on confidence, leaderships, and personal growth.
The “Golf With Us” initiative continues to expand nationwide, helping introduce thousands of young people to golf through affordable play opportunities, clinics, and mentorship experiences.
