Dave Runner
Superintendent, The Tattersall Youth Development Center

Born and raised in Richmond, Dave has been playing golf since 1973 and in his role at The Tattersall Youth Development Center at the First Tee Chesterfield Golf Course, he works meticulously every day to ensure top-notch golf course conditions. 

Dave was first introduced to First Tee – Greater Richmond when his daughter Lyndsey was enrolled in our Life Skills Experience programs, and from there, began volunteering as a marshal and starter with the golf course operations team and eventually found his passion for golf course maintenance.

What started out as a part-time opportunity cutting greens and raking bunkers, eventually turned into a full-time position as the Assistant Superintendent in 2005. Dave has worked tirelessly to increase his experience and knowledge of turf management and is currently a licensed spray technician. In 2017, he was promoted to Superintendent.

In his spare time, he enjoys playing golf, model building, and playing the guitar.
