2023 Late Fall & Winter Clinics

Registration for Late Fall & Winter clinics opens October 17th!

Our Late Fall & Winter Clinics are an opportunity for new and recurring First Tee – Greater Richmond participants to experience fun activities that build on both golf skills and life skills to keep participants engaged throughout the cooler months. All three First Tee – Greater Richmond facilities have indoor youth programming spaces, so if it is too cold for outdoor programming, we will pivot to our indoor spaces.

Capacity is set at 12 participants per clinic.

Registration

Registration for clinics will be a first come, first serve basis. You may sign up for one or multiple clinics as your schedules allow and activities will vary for each clinic. If clinics are full, please join the waitlist. This will help with getting a spot if we’re able to increase maximum capacities or add additional classes to the schedule.

Age Groups

  • Ages 5-6: Introduction to basic golf skills through fun games and developmentally-appropriate golf equipment.
  • Ages 7-9: Participants will receive lessons that introduce and engage participants with both golf and life skills. Kids get active and play golf with their peers.
  • Ages 10-13: Participants will receive lessons that support the exploration of both character and golf skills in active and collaborative ways. Lessons will also empower participants to explore both golf skills and character commitments through opportunities for mastery and growth.
  • Ages 14+: Participants will receive lessons that help participants elaborate on their understanding and place a greater emphasis on their personal development.

Pricing

A founding purpose of First Tee is to make golf more accessible to all youth, particularly young people who otherwise may not have an opportunity to learn and play the game. Our policy is to provide access to programs regardless of a participant’s ability to play. Our financial aid program is funded by generous donors. Parents/guardians may apply for financial aid as part of the online registration process. Once you have applied for financial aid through the online registration, you will receive an email notification and can then complete the registration.

Clinics will be $10 per 60 minute clinic.

  • Clinics meet once a week.
  • Clinics are intended to be outdoors, subject to weather. In the event of inclement weather or cold temperatures, clinics will be held inside.
  • Refunds will be subject to a $10.00 administrative fee.
  • Participants receiving financial aid are expected to have attendance records in good standing to remain eligible for future aid.
  • There will be no clinics on Thursday, Nov. 23, due to the Thanksgiving holiday.

The First Tee App includes games and challenges that will reinforce the concepts experienced during class and bring them to life in new ways! Kids and teens will earn badges and points as they complete activities within the App, motivating them to keep going, and tracking their progress over time.

You can access the First Tee App from your Apple or Android device and tablet, as well as through an internet browser using WiFi or cellular data. The games and activities are also available to download for offline use.
